Cozy Home Décor Tips for Winter
Cozy Home Décor Tips for Winter
05 May 2021

A change of scenery sometimes means changing things up in your home to make it more inviting and cozy, especially with winter around the corner.

Taking your home decor to the next level doesn't have to be expensive and tedious. We have put together a list of simple ways you can bring warmth into your home which will make you enjoy the time you spend at home.

Declutter your space

The reality is that we are spending more time at home, which means seeing the same four walls daily is enough to give even the most optimistic of us cabin fever. But as the adage goes, a cluttered space reflects a cluttered mind', it may be time to declutter your space.

A common mistake that people make when it comes to home decor is adding more to the space, but less is more. Not only will it make your space feel more breathable, but it can become a playground to introduce small decor pieces that can make your space feel cozy.

Choose warm & relaxing colours

Colour has an impact on our moods, which is why it is important to be aware of the type of colours you surround yourself within each part of your home.

You can never go wrong with neutral and pastel colours, especially when it comes to spaces such as your bedroom and lounge. There are many ways you can do this by choosing rugs, throw cushions or even changing the paint colour in a room or on a single wall to breathe some life into the space.

Adding a pop of colour can also have its advantages such as using the brightly coloured cookware from Le Creuset to brighten up your cooking experience and also make hearty meals for winter.

Switch your lighting to something softer

If you haven't switched your light bulbs to energy-efficient lights, then it is time to do so. Having soft lights around your home is a great way to enhance the feel of your interior decor by being easier on the eye. It also helps cut back on the cost that comes with paying for electricity.

Add some relaxing scents

Scents play a significant part in our memory and also can impact our mood. Investing in aromatherapy can even improve your sleep patterns. Incenses sticks or aromatherapy humidifiers that release a soft scent into the air such as jasmine, lavender, chamomile, lemon balm, rose or Ylang Ylang can be beneficial to anyone who is looking to create a cozy and relaxing space.

Brighten the corners with some candles

Candles can come in handy, especially when you are trying to create a relaxing mood. Choosing scented candles can help relax you and bring a sense of warmth to any space, not to mention the reduced electricity bill. Make sure to have these centred on candle holders that are not only aesthetically pleasing but will also keep your home safe from accidental fires. Keep a small fire extinguisher on hand just in case.
