The campaign saw 3 schools in South Africa receive a generous donation towards the upliftment of their school facilities.

 Teen ‘n Child Developers is an organization that reaches out to teenagers and children in eleven communities in and around Khayelitsha. Their vision is to protect and build the future of South Africa by taking care of, empowering and equipping the children and teenagers of their townships and guiding them to make the right choices and decisions.

Winner Quote: “We hope to fulfill our vision through programs that equip these young people to deal with issues such as life skills, HIV and AIDS, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse and drugs, violence and crime and sexual abuse.” Comments Thembeka Mgushelo. Together with teaching children how to play musical instruments such as the flute and recorder, an after school program to help children with homework such as Maths and English is also in play.


Some of the communities which they reach out to are Makhaya, Nkanini, Kuyasa, Harare, Endlovini, Sitec and Silver Town and temporarily in Delft. Teen n Child also have 13 soccer teams and 13 netball teams with 25 qualified coaches combined facilitating their efforts and programmes. “Currently all we have are balls and cones for the kids to practice, with this money we plan to enter a team into a league in Mitchells Plain and acquire soccer and netball kits for the kids” Says Thembeka
