Depending on your child's age, you can consider getting them a colouring book, games book, or a sticker booker that has tasks that are short enough to keep their attention but entertaining to complete for a road trip or flight. Finding something that is more in line with their interests can always come in handy when it comes to warding off the cries of boredom from the back seat.
Charge up the tablets
While most parents wouldn't want their children being glued to the screen, involving a healthy amount of screen time can be entertaining for children of all ages. If your car doesn't come with this built-in feature on the headrest, you can always opt for a tablet to load their favourite videos or stream them to keep them busy. Including interactive videos for younger children can also inform and entertain them while you are travelling.
Classic travel games
Engaging with your child(ren) can also be another form of entertainment. Planning these beforehand can also give you a breather of having to think of fun ways to keep them entertained. Think of the classics such as "Eye Spy', word association or 21 questions. Looking for quiet time can also be achieved by challenging them to a game of who can keep quiet the longest with a prize for the winner who wins this.

Travelling can often mean not having a solid & stable surface for your child(ren) to play on. However, getting a travelling tray or a normal plastic tray can give your child a surface to play on. Switch things up by including sensory bags that are safely secure so that the contents in the bag do not spill all over.
